How do I share and/or receive a Distribution List?
Sharing a Distribution List: You'll do the same thing you do when you send an attachment, EXCEPT instead of pressing the Attach a File button, you'll click the one to the right of it--Attach an Item. This will bring up a screen that you'll scroll through to choose the Distribution List(s) to attach.
Receiving/Saving a Distribution List: It'll be an attachment to an email. You'll Drag and Drop it into your Contacts folder.
With Outlook open, find the Mail Folders area in the left side task pane. The first choice under Mail Folders is "Mailbox-your name" Right-click on this and choose "Properties for Mailbox- your name". The resulting window will have a Folder Size button. You'll want to look at the Size with Subfolders total.
Note: If you are checking your Mailbox size because you got a message that you are over the limit, make sure you've deleted the deleted items AND emptied the Recycle Bin on your machine. It will act as if all those files still exist until you do.
What's the most common culprit when your Mailbox is full? You haven't deleted your SENT items. Emails with large attachments, such as PowerPoints with lots of pictures, and photos also take up a lot of space.
What do I do about SPAM?
There's not much you CAN do about SPAM. The district's filters catch a lot, but that's hard to believe if you are deluged with it. One thing that might cut down on it is being very selective about where you send your email address. I've heard once you give it to eBay, for instance, you're in trouble.
When you do have SPAM, delete it, then delete your DELETED ITEMS in your Outlook Mailbox. There's no need to tell tech support or your ITF--even if it's REALLY disgusting.
If you believe you've received SPAM that is somehow promoting something illegal, you should report it to the FBI.
If you've accidently deleted your SPAM folder, don't worry. Just as soon as you get something the system recognizes as SPAM, another will appear.
Should I use the Approved Senders folder in the SPAM folder? You can, but it slows your email, the more you have in it. A better way to ensure your emails don't end up in your SPAM folder is to add those senders to your CONTACTS.
